Threebrook Input Privacy Policy
Publisher: Zhuhai Threebrook Technology Co., Ltd. ("we") Contact: support@threebrook.com
Threebrook Input ("the software") is a keyboard that runs on your own phone. We don't collect any of your information: there's no account, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party data collection tools. The software doesn't request network permission. What you type, what you say and the words it learns are processed and stored only on your phone. This policy explains which permissions it uses, what it keeps on your phone, and how to delete it.
This English version is a translation for convenience. If it differs from the Chinese version, the Chinese version applies.
1. The software doesn't go online
- The software doesn't request Android's network permission. It can't connect to the internet and never sends any data to us or anyone else.
- Typing, suggestions, learning, English spelling correction and speech recognition all happen on your phone.
- If you tap the website or the support email on the About page, your browser or email app opens it, under that app's own privacy policy.
- You download the voice model yourself in a browser and then import it. The download comes from the site that hosts the model (hf-mirror.com or huggingface.co), under that site's privacy policy; the software takes no part in it.
2. Permissions
| Permission | What it's for | When it's used |
|---|---|---|
| Microphone | Voice input | Only while you hold the mic button on the keyboard; recording stops when you let go. It's requested the first time you use voice input |
| Vibration | Key vibration | When you turn on key vibration in settings |
| Input method (you enable it in system settings) | Receives key presses and enters text; reads a little of the text before the cursor for suggestions, calculations and to tell when you delete something right after entering it | While you type with the software |
| Clipboard (input methods are allowed to read it by default) | Clipboard history and paste suggestions | When you copy text; can be turned off in settings |
The software also reads the screen orientation to switch keyboard layouts and plays key sounds at the system volume; neither needs separate permission.
3. What's kept on your phone
The data below is kept only in the software's own storage on your phone. It isn't encrypted and is never backed up or synced anywhere automatically.
| Data | What it contains | How to delete it |
|---|---|---|
| Learned words | Chinese words and phrases you enter as a whole, their pinyin, how many times you've used them and when you last did. Entries longer than 20 characters aren't recorded; words you stop using are removed over time | Settings › My words: delete one, or clear all |
| Clipboard history | Text you've copied, up to 50 items by default | Settings › Clipboard: turn it off, change the limit or clear it |
| Phrases | Phrases you've added yourself | The phrases panel on the keyboard |
| Recent symbols and emoji | "Recently used" in the symbol and emoji panels | Uninstall the software |
| Settings and themes | Keyboard settings, your theme and custom background image | Uninstall the software |
| Voice model | The speech recognition model you imported (about 228 MB) | Settings › Speech recognition › Delete model |
| Crash log | Technical details when the app runs into an error, without anything you typed. A shareable file is created only when you tap "Export crash log" on the About page, and it's up to you whether to send it to us | Uninstall the software |
Uninstalling the software makes Android delete all of the above.
4. Voice input
- Recording happens only while you hold the mic button, for up to 60 seconds at a time.
- The recording is kept only in memory and is discarded as soon as recognition finishes or you swipe up to cancel. It's never written to a file or uploaded.
- Recognition uses the voice model you imported to your phone and runs on the phone.
5. Passwords and sensitive input
- In password fields, the keyboard switches to English automatically.
- In password fields, and in fields an app marks as not for personalized learning (such as a browser's private mode), the software doesn't learn what you type and doesn't record what you copy there. Copied content the system marks as sensitive (such as a password copied from a password manager) isn't added to clipboard history.
6. Third parties
The software includes no third-party advertising, analytics, push or sign-in tools. The open-source components and word lists it uses run on your phone and send nothing out; they're listed in section 3 of the License Agreement.
7. Children
We don't collect personal information from anyone, including children under 14. When a child uses the software, we suggest a parent or guardian read this policy and help with the settings (for example, turning off clipboard history).
8. Your rights
Your data stays in your hands: at any time you can view and delete learned words in Settings › My words, turn off or clear clipboard history in settings, delete the voice model, or uninstall the software to delete everything. Because we don't have your data, we can't look it up, export it or delete it for you. If you have questions, write to us.
9. Changes and contact
When this policy changes, it's updated with a new version and published at www.threebrook.com. If we ever add a feature that needs the internet, we'll explain it and ask for your consent before it's used. For any questions, write to support@threebrook.com.
