Voice model
Speech recognition uses a model of about 228 MB. It isn’t in the APK; add it when you need it. Open Settings › 语音识别 (Speech recognition): the page has two download links. Download both in your phone’s browser, tap 导入模型文件 (Import model files) and select both files. You only do this once.
The model is hosted on hf-mirror.com (a mirror of huggingface.co) and downloaded by your browser. Threebrook Input itself never goes online.

Getting started
- Open the downloaded APK to install it. The first time you install an APK, your phone asks whether to allow your browser to “install unknown apps”; allow it.
- Open Threebrook Input, tap 启用输入法 (Enable keyboard) and turn it on in system settings, then come back and tap 选择输入法 (Choose keyboard) to switch to it.
- Try typing in any text box. Switch between the 9-key keypad, full keyboard and double pinyin from the keyboard’s menu.
If your phone warns about an “unverified app” or wants to scan it online, that’s the phone’s own security check; choose to continue installing.
What’s new in 20261025.12
- First public release.
- Whole-sentence input: type a full sentence in one go and the whole sentence comes first. Abbreviated pinyin and mixed Chinese and English work too.
- Our own learning rules: a word takes about 3 uses to reach first place, so one wrong pick won’t mess things up. Deleting a word right after entering it doesn’t count, words you stop using fade out over 30 days, and you can review and delete learned words in My words.
- Offline voice input: hold the mic, speak, let go. Mandarin, English, Cantonese, Japanese and Korean. You download and import the voice model once.
- English spelling correction: misspell a word and the right spelling shows up as a candidate; Space still enters what you typed.
- Full pinyin, seven double-pinyin layouts and a 9-key keypad. Dark mode follows your phone.
